Well done by all 9 players that represented TPEI at this year’s Indoor Junior Tennis Atlantics Championships in Fredericton, NB.
75 players from the four Atlantic Provinces attended this year’s tournament. PEI had two Atlantic Champions, Mark Rainnie (Boys U10) and Rachel Phelan (Girls U12).
Mark Rainnie (Charlottetown) won the Boys U10 division over Griffin McDonough (NS).
Rachel Phelan (Kensington) won the Girls U12 division over Darah Ross (NS) 6/3, 4/6, 6/2.
Cincy Chen (Stratford) came in third place by defeating Isabella Baker (NS) 6/1, 6/0.
Rachael Phelan (Kensington) defeated Darah Ross (NS) 7/5, 6/2 to place third in the Girls U14 division.
Mark Rainnie (Charlottetown) lost to Liam Drover-Mattinen (NL) 6/0, 6/0 to place fourth in the Boys U12 division
Annika Wiebe (Charlottetown) lost to Isobel Anderson (NS) 4/6, 6/3, 6/3 to place fourth in the Girls U18 division.
Rachel Phelan and Cincy Chen will be representing Team Atlantic in the Girls U12 Nationals on March 26th to April 1st in Calgary, AB.
Rachel Phelan will be representing Team Atlantic in the Girls U14 Nationals in Vancouver, BC April 3rd to 9th.
