Tennis PEI is inviting its members to nominate individuals who should be considered for awards that will be presented at the annual meeting on Nov. 24, 2018.   Nominations should be forward to Don Cameron, Executive Director Tennis PEI (ed@tennispei.ca) by October 15.  Nominations may be made for any of the following awards:

The ADL/Sport PEI awards, which include the following:
Junior Male Athlete, Junior Female Athlete, Senior Male Athlete, Senior Female Athlete, Coach of the Year, Administrator of the Year, Volunteer of the Year

Sport Recognition Awards – 2 for Senior/2 for Adults – yearly awards that are given out to deserving people who helped to contribute to the development of tennis during the past year.

Marlene White Junior Award – given out to a deserving junior player, based on fair play, competitiveness and sportsmanship.

The Nijjar Family Award – for outstanding contribution to Junior tennis.

 The Doug George award – given for outstanding contribution to tennis for numerous years.  This is the trophy for sportsmanship, contribution to tennis and elevation of the sport.

The Byoung Bae Choi Newcomers Award – established 2013

This award is given annually by Tennis PEI to a NewComer to Canada currently residing on Prince Edward Island who has consistently championed the game of tennis through active participation and sportsmanship.  The recipient shall meet the following criteria:

  • Living in Canada for less than 5 years and currently a resident of Prince Edward Island
  • Participate regularly in tennis programs and activities
  • Foster the development of tennis through the encouragement of others
  • Exhibit a passion for the game of tennis
  • Demonstrate the highest principles of sportsmanship on and off the court
