Good evening everyone!
As the Atlantic Outdoor Junior Championships gets underway in Fredericton this week from July 18th to July 22nd we’ll post some results, some news, and a few quick reactions and profiles from some of our players competing at this week’s tournament.
To start off, we stole a quick moment with PEI’s Team coach Brian Hall earlier today:
Q: Brian, what are your thoughts heading into this year’s Atlantic Outdoor Championships?
BH: I always enjoy taking the PEI team to the Atlantic Championships (held in Fredericton this year). It’s a time to see how our team of competitors are developing & competing in relationship to the rest of the tennis competitors in Atlantic Canada.
Q: So what’s next for the players after the tournament comes to a close this Sunday?
BH: It’s a time to adjust training plans for the fall. All of the athletes have trained throughout the indoor and spring/summer season with the Atlantic’s being the big event that shows the players where they stand in Atlantic Canada. For those that finish in the top 3, they get to compete at the Canadian National Championships in August.
Thanks Brian! Good luck to all the Team PEI competitors!
