Tennis PEI is proud to congratulate four talented athletes from Stratford who recently represented Prince Edward Island at the prestigious Steve Stevens Masters Tennis Championships in Toronto. This national tournament brought together over 600 men and women competing in age categories ranging from over 30 to over 85. Not only does the event serve as a national championship, but it also helps determine Canada’s representatives for next year’s world team championships.

All four Stratford participants showcased their skills with notable victories. Dr. Jason Chan led the charge with an impressive 4th place finish in the over 30 singles event, securing two wins alongside two hard-fought losses. Dr. Sean Wiebe also demonstrated solid form, achieving two wins and two losses in the over 55 singles division.

In the over 65 category, Brian Hall and Don Cameron made PEI proud. Brian, despite facing top-ranked players, earned one victory before an unfortunate injury sidelined him for the consolation matches. Don had a strong showing with two singles wins and two losses, finishing the tournament tied for 9th place.

We applaud the dedication, hard work, and sportsmanship displayed by all four players as they competed against the best in the country. Their performances reflect the strength and promise of tennis in our province.
